Electric Mechanical Horse. Height 1400mm; Length 990mm; Width 460mm. Made by Spencer Heath and George Limited, 'Gymnasium Outfitters', 18 - 52 Goswell Road London. Marked : ' Patent App. 22266/14 '., , , , Patent possibly applied for after 1891. See file for details. Early June 2004, the Patent Office confirmed patent applied in 1914, but not persued. Elizabeth Shaw, daughter of the Shaw who owned the mechanical horse prior to which they bought it. Father bought it from Wing Commander Collingwood of Liburn hall, Alnwick at a sale with some carriages. It is said to have been made for a man who had had a riding accident, which meant he could not ride anymore. , , , , He rode the machine every morning in the bay window of his house.
