Police Hat

Durham County Constabulary c.1895-1920. Black kepi, with flat top. Braid decoration on top. Cap badge is 1870 issue, consisting of the Durham Coat of Arms surrounded by the words " County Constabulary ". The kepi was introduced in the late1870's in a different form, and replaced by the peaked cap in 1920.
