University policeman

University policeman, Mr A Young, pictured with Miss Joy McKean a North Island New Zealander on Palace Green, 25th September 1956. During the last 14 months her journey had read like a gazetteer, she had travelled 34,000 miles alone on her 150cc two stroke motorcycle. A farmers daughter, who had served as a nurse in Scotland during the Second World War. She left her home in Te Puke in July and travelled across Australia, India, East Africa, Cape Town and then trhough North Africa and Europe. DA Box 40.
