General view of Crimdon Caravan Park, 1960s. In 1977 there were 1540 caravans on the site, but on the introduction of the Poll Tax, many gave up their second homes. Many of the owners were from Easington RDC.

An "open lot" gypsy caravan. Between the Wars a modern type of gypsy caravan of simplified design was introduced for ease of costruction, built on an existing four-wheeled tradesman's cart. This was known as an "Open Lot". This caravan was built by Lambert and Bowling and was painted by Barras of Thinford. It has the initials "JN" on the side for Jo Nicholson - a previous owner. Length: 3300mm x Height: 2800mm x Width: 2000mm. Diameter of wheels: 760mm.
