Milk Float
A wooden horse drawn milk float with single seat. This type of float was quite widely used in the early 1890s and appeared in three main sizes all being low slung with cranked axles. They were ideal for loading heavy milk churns. Painted on the side is the following " Mrs S. & E. Williams and Sons, South Stanley, County Durham". Length: 3960mm x Width: 1720mm x Height: 1740mm. Diameter of wheels: 1250mm.

Warden Law Engine
The cylinder from the Warden Law Hauling Engine. The engine is cast iron and was used for pulling coal wagons from Hetton Colliery up the gradient at Warden Law. They then went down four self-acting inclines to loading staiths at Sunderland. The engine was built in 1836 by Murray’s of Chester-le-Street, Co. Durham. It was dismantled in June 1962. Prints and plans of the original brick house for the engine are in the files, as are prints and plans of the engine itself.
