Patterson HCP Lamp
High candle power lamp. Patent number :- 25399. The lamp has a plate soldered to it, stamped ' No 4 ', and has ben stamped again near the base with ' 45 '. The bonnet, supports and hook have been painted gold. , , , , It was father -in-laws George Davison, died 25/06/2005. It was found when clearing his house. He worked in the following mines since 1931, until 1974, Chester Moor, Westoe, Pelaw, and Kibblesworth., , , , George was born in 1917 and died 2005.

Naptha Barrel
Metal barrel for naptha (lamp oil) from Dean & Chapter Colliery. Used for storing lamp oil in the lamp cabin at Dean & Chapter Colliery, Spennymoor. Barrel has a filter tap on one end and a removable screw plug on top side face. Also a plaque leaded to one end with the company and colliery name and serial number. , , , , Inscription: Bolckow Vaughan & Company Limited, Dean & Chapter Colliery, number 516 Spennymoor. , , Date: between 1904 and 1928., , Used: not before 1904, possibly until 1966.

Protector Lamp
Type 6RS officials lamp from Eppleton colliery, stamped ' EPPCOL ' on the base,bottom cage ring and bonnet. The bottom cage ring was made in 1973 and the base in 1972. The lamp has a stainless steel bonnet with gas testing nipple on bonnet., , , , The striking bar was missing when collected, but replaced with a Protector original by David Harker in 2006. The donor thought her brother had used the lamp at Trimdon Grange colliery, however this closed in 1968, before the lamp ws made. It is more likely he received it later as a memento, as the lamp has been well polished, I.e.a display piece., , ...

Brass, has a plate on it which reads :- Royal Institution 7th July Centenary 1899 Dr Mond's Garden Party '. Small replica Davy lamp with 6 pillars and a side filler tube. The lamp also has an hook for hanging it from a lapel or pocket. The brass plate probably refers to Doctor Ludwig Mond, German born chemist and industralist. Safety Lamp
Makers :- Ashworth, Hepplewhite & Gray. This lamp consists of a brass base which is set on 3 brass feet and has a series of 17 off 6mm diameter holes around circumference. The wick is 13mm x 8mm flat type, adjusted by thumb screw through the base. Top of oil vessel is stamped '3207'. The glass is 70mm high and tapers from 38mm outside diameter at top to 57mm at bottom. , , , , The glass is held in with a brass screwed ring 78mm diameter. This ring is stamped 3206 on rear face.
