Craftsmen of Durham are seen in the ancient workshops at Durham Cathedral, 31st January 1936. Box 71. They are Walter Hollis (centre), Mr W S Cope (right) and master Thomas Jopling (left) who is standing beside the magnificently carved door which was dedicated 29 January to the memory of his grandfather, the late W H Jopling, described by the Dean as a fine old English craftsman. The carving of this door, which is at one of the entrances to St Cuthberts Shrine was begun by Mr Jopling shortly before his death and was completed by Mr Hollis, who has revelled great skill in the art.
