General view of Blackhall Rocks Hotel. Monarch card no 2176. Built by Nimmo and Sons, opened Sat May 16th 1896, Mrs Frazer was first landlady, taken over by the Temperance Society, then by Blackhall Workingmens Club (1919-1927) - J Boldon Club Steward. Electric generator installed by Bob Payne in 1920. In 1928 bought by Horden Coal Co as flats for miners. Demolished c1967 under the Category D Villages Act.

Railway Crossing

Gateway on left led to old goods yard and former Stanhope and Tyne Lime and Coal Depot (rebuilt at Beamish). Now (2000) site of Boldon Business Park roundabout.
