Detail of specification of the patent granted to John Birkinshaw of Bedlington Iron Works in the County of Durham for an improvement in the construction of Malleable Iron Rails to be used in rail roads, whereby the cost is reduced and the expense of repairs of broken rails saved, dated December 2nd 1820. Size 285 x 560mm. The sheet includes a good illustration of a rake of horse drawn chaldron waggons.
