4 Miniature Lamps
4 miniature lamps in case. This display case and lamps were probably a desk ornament or display piece. The piece may have belonged to James Swan Donald, Chief lamp maker for John Mills & Sons of Newcastle. The case contains lamps which would have been made by John Mills' company. They are a Davy, a Donald, a 4bar Marsaut lamp ( both with Guy's patent shields ) and a 6 bar Marsaut lamp with a pillar lock. As this piece was collected with James Donald's indenture, and contains Mills lamps it is surmised that it may have belonged to him. See ' NOTES '.
