Air Raid Siren - Specifications: Elmatic B29741. STD 71/9,1kw, 230/50, made by Castles Castings Ltd, Brook Works, Clitheroe, Lancashire established circa 1950. The siren was originally from Washington Urban District Council, which later became Sunderland City Council. It was probably fitted as part of the post-war Civil Defence scheme. Height 440mm x Length: 580mm. Diameter of ends: 400mm.
