Collected from the Morrison Busty. (.1) Lamp Cleaning Machine, makers :- Hailwood & Ackroyd Limited, formerly Ackroyd & Best Limited, Morley, England. Approx., weight 6.50 cwt - motor driven. Brass plate added to cast backplate, records change of name of firm to :- Hailwood & Ackroyd. Machine therefore likely to date to immediately post 1927 ( date of change of name ). Currently painted green, with white lettering. Machine consists of brush heads on individual spindles, mounted on cast iron backplate oncast iron table. , , , , (.1a) Drive belt for machine. 18th century. Brass table lamp, Dutch type. weighted base with tall stem holding burner. Recatalogued, previous number not known. Brass table lamp with conical, weighted base; tall stem; cup at top holding small cylindrical reservoir with long spout., , , , The resevoir lifts out for filling, and has a domed and knobbed lid. There is also a small holed and decoratively shaped backplate to the unit, for suspension or carrying. All components are soldered.
