Hylton Grange
General view of Hylton Grange, near North Hylton on the outskirts of Sunderland, c1950, situated behind the farm. Sometime before WWII it was used as a boys home (probably Catholic) there was either one or two dormitories upstairs, downstairs there was a huge cavernous kitchen, servants quarters, a butlers pantry, a morning room, a massive entrance hall and a magnificent curving staircase. (Sold for £1000 with 2 acres of land).
