1966-117, oil lamp colza, with 2 wicks. marked "for colze oil only, paraffin or mineral oil not to be used with these burners "oblong piece of metal at back with hole for handle. rounded concave shield behind wicks.. overall height. 235 mm height. of wick stand 115 mm base 140 mm x 184 mm rounded edge at front. used for illuminating kilns at Newburn brickworks. 1963-518 steel candlestick with round base and adjustable socket - sliding centre to the stick. rather battered condition. overall height. 178 mm dia. of base 115 mm.

1964-29, table oil lamp, with douser. the body of the lamp fits into a plant-pot like stand with 3 legs. lamp and stand are of a type of silvered brass. lamp is marked "50 c/p lamp veritas foreign" shade and wick missing. the glass globe is marked "Griffin brand" height 545 mm height of lamp alone is 241 mm.

French `pigeon' make. 7" high 3" dia. at base. rising to slender wick holder at top, with chain and small extinguisher.

1966-278, "Crusie" oil lamp, iron, with hook handle socketed to the top. height 254 mm, length 170 mm from an old thatched house in Scotland. 1961-39.f, oil torch lamp of heavy cast iron, spherical shape, with 2 spouts at one side and curved handle at the other. at the top is a screw hole for filling the lamp with oil. the hole is closed by a cap which forms another handle - also curved. attached to the first handle is an iron chain and pin. Trade mark on top - Wells double torch lamp. Patent A C Wells & Co. below. strength/trade mark/durability. max length c140 mm max width c115 mm.
