General view of Acorn Close, Blackett's Bank, Sacriston, c1903. The home of Col William Blackett, manager of Sacriston Colliery. A rather fine house with extensive grounds containing tennis courts, orchards, ornamental fish pond, greenhouses, etc. The house was demolished in the late 1930s due to mining subsidence from drift mine workings.
