Illustration depicting drawings of the three miners' halls which have been occupied by the DMA. The first was a room in the Market Tavern, Durham, the second in North Road, Durham and the third Red Hill, purchased in 1915. Beneath a DMA coat of arms is the caption 'Let Commerce be bound by Compassion'.

Banner was made after the National Coal Strike March 1984-March 1985, it was NOT made by a banner manufacturer, but at Westoe Colliery, the artist, Mike Finnegan from Jarrow was unemployed. Illustration depicting Durham Cathedral with motto "The past we inherit the future we build". The banner was carried at the 1985 Durham Miners' Gala and at the 50th Anniversary of the Jarrow Crusade (at Jarrow 1985). Following the closure of Westoe Colliery closed in 1993, the banner was presented to St Hilda's Church, South Shields.
