“ Coming out of the pictures when it was cold and dark- (Esoldo, Arcadia, Cambridge and the Town Hall) I remember the smell of the chip van lamps though I never saw the horse! That chipping thing was a good machine! It doesn’t matter how long you stood you stood till you got them! ”

“ Have been given lamp by j abbot & co limiter no other markings except no 6 on top of oil base , has a wire that passers throught oil tank in a pipe which comes out the bottem and lifts when placed down. Any info would be welcome . 986g empty 240cm high, I think its slightly earlier than 1850. ”
