Bought by donors husband Mr Thomas Pyle when he was 18 years old in 1922, from tailor in Saville Row. He was the mine surveyor covering Pelaw Main Collieries. Worked for 50 years from age of 14 circa 1918. He always carried lamp with red glass. Bought his own suit and wore it for whole life in the pit.
