Ox Inn
The Ox Inn was once known as the Bull Inn, Stanley. The man standing on the left handside of the door is the late Mr John Errington. He was a tall man with mutton chop whiskers, well known in all the local sporting activities. He took over the licence of the Ox Inn in 1863, and held it for 44 years, retiring in 1907. He was presented with a gold-mounted walking stick, suitably inscribed by his patrons.
