The Mass Graves
Crowds gather at the graves for the miners of Easington Colliery who were killed in the disaster as part of the Memorial Service. A Miner's Lamp was unveiled to mark the anniversary. A new one lamp is unveiled to mark each decade since the disaster. Tributes were led by the Bishop of Jarrow.

Walking down Memorial Avenue
The commemorative banner made by people in Easington Colliery to mark the 60th anniversary of the disaster is paraded down Memorial Avenue. The trees were planted for each of the miners killed and there is a memorial stone to mark the disaster.
