Felling colliery chimney at Shotton Colliery. Taken by 16 year old amateur photographer, Kevin Ward of Queen Street, Shotton Colliery seconds before it became a pile of rubble. The 182ft chimney built in the early 1930s to take exhaust fumes from five boilers, only just survived a bombing raid during WWII; it received a glancing blow from a high explosive bomb which shattered the top five feet.
