Knitting sheath
Knitting sheath from Wensleydale. 1st World War cap badge embedded. One of two in this collection.
Very fine scimitar shaped piece with turned and balustered needle holder, whose socket is of EPNS. On the outer side of the main body are symbols relating to the end of the 1WW; they are in brass or nickel plate and are inlaid.

The top most is a figure of peace with a comucopia; then below this a heart with initials; the back of an open book ( Bible probably ) a diamond insert; a spade (missing ); and a cutless with, on it, " Peace be still " Tip broken off.
