Brickworks

Derelict brick works north of Ponteland on the Dissington Lane opposite Collingwood Cottages. The site consisted of a water filled clay pit, empty shell of an engine house, six ovens in two sets of 3 and an office building. It is said to have been opened c1936 and closed in 1939. Now only 2 of the six ovens remain and stand with their Newcastle type kilns
