Windsor stick back armchair , rail back; curved rail ; ash armrests, back and seat c.1880 - 1890, formerley belonging to Edward Henderson, donor's grandfather. Made of ash. 820 mm high x 580 mm width ( max ) 370 mm depth of seat. , , , , Made Yorkshire (?) 1880 - 1890. Method : wood turnery, chairmaker.Associated people : Edward henderson ( donor's grandfather remembers carrying chair home as a young boy. His father worked on Kilhope wheel.. Associated place : Ramshaw, Yorkshire, later Consett and Moorside, County Durham. , , , , Why Collected : Good example of regional vernacular furniture. Partly still heavily varnished, arms and back rail, heavily worn; turned legs; stretcher missing. Legs worn or cut down.
