John Edward Foreman in uniform at Gateshead just before embarking for France. John Foreman and his brothers Joe and Bill (who was in the RFC), were all born at Bearpark, where grandad Foreman was on the winding engine at the pit, the family also had a small farm near Leadgate which was bouhgt by the Consett Iron Company in the 1920's.
