Soldiers on parade
Northumberland Fusiliers on parade in Gateshead. All the men that have visible cap badges are wearing a grenade, the cap badge of the Northumberland Fusiliers. The 26th (Service) Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers (3rd Tyneside Irish) were quartered in Gateshead from January until May 1915. The officer on the left looks like Lieutenant W L C Shackleton of the above battalion.
