Line of Kershaw's delivery carts on Gateshead High Street. Business started in 1868 by James Edward Kershaw at Bird in the Bush Yard, Gateshead High Street. Had 15 horse and carts and delivered in a 15 mile radius. In 1883 moved to 1A Askew Road, Gateshead. Produced mineral and botanic waters including Zolakone (tonic produced from Kola Nut). Not one delivery was made to a public house, trade being to shops, restaurants and Temperance Hotels also supplied the Temperance Festival on the Town Moor in Newcastle.
